Abstract

This research explores the causes of educational decline and the practical possibilities for educational revival in the Pashtun belt of Balochistan through a socio-policy lens. Employing both qualitative and quantitative methods, the study includes field surveys and interviews with teachers, students, parents, and education officials. Findings indicate that lack of infrastructure, ineffective educational policies, teacher absenteeism, and sociocultural barriers—particularly concerning girls' education—are key contributing factors. Despite these challenges, there is a growing public inclination towards education, especially among youth and community leaders. The study concludes with actionable recommendations including the recruitment of local teachers, the promotion of female education, and the establishment of transparent oversight mechanisms to ensure sustainable progress in the region.
